About the Artist

People often ask why I focus on relics of the past in my work. The answer is simple: nostalgia. I am drawn to objects that tell a story—pieces of history that evoke emotion through their craftsmanship, design, and the passage of time. Whether it's a weathered storefront, an old sign, or a classic vehicle resting in the sun, I find beauty in what has been left behind.

Some subjects are pristine, carefully preserved; others bear the marks of time, their surfaces telling silent stories of where they’ve been. I love capturing the interplay of age and artistry, the contrast between decay and resilience. And then there’s the chrome—reflective surfaces that distort and mirror the world around them. Painting these details is a challenge I relish, more about capturing a feeling than perfect accuracy.

My favorite way to find inspiration is by wandering, letting curiosity lead me, sometimes through winding country roads, sometimes down city streets. More often than not, this takes the form of a Driving Miss Daisy-style adventure, with my husband at the wheel while I scan the landscape for hidden gems. Together, we zigzag through quiet backroads and city streets, searching for that perfect combination of subject, setting, and light. My camera roll is filled with discoveries, each waiting to be brought to life in paint.

For me, painting is more than an artistic practice; it is a way of preserving the soul of forgotten things. With every brushstroke, I give them a second life, allowing them to whisper their stories once more—if only to those willing to listen.
